Happy Holidays! I am spending this week in New York, where I’ll have a Christmas Day dinner with friends in Brooklyn.
I’d like to thank you for being a loyal reader, even with me not posting as regularly as I did in the past.
A lot is on my plate, and Finest Travels takes much of my time. I have had a few people asking me if writing for the blog is a valuable use of my time. Looking at the positive email I get regularly, I think it is. Therefore, I’ll continue writing for the blog and sending out lessons for my entrepreneurship course aiming at one post a week.
This year, or these few months since Finest Travels was founded, have been amazing for Finest Travels. We’ve gone from idea to development in a really short time, and work is in progress on a product I haven’t announced yet that will be ground-breaking for travelers on a budget. I’ll go into more detail in the first weeks of 2013.
In the coming year, you can except Finest Travels to release a few different products. Finest Booking will not be the first in line, and it will probably be ready in late 2013 or beginning of 2014. This is due to the many regulations in the travel industry, which make it difficult for newcomers to get started. It would be very well possible to create a service which outsources many key components, increasing the price and reducing the quality of the customer experience. We are however committed to creating a product you’ll love, and that will take a little longer.
Before that, as previously mentioned, we’ll release another product for both final customers and travel agents that will change the way we look at budget travel forever. This project will not require us to comply with the same regulations, and is therefore easier to create. I’ll give you updates on this blog and on the Finest Travels twitter and Facebook pages in the months leading to the launch, which should occur during Q2 2013.
Above all, Finest Travels will grow as a company—and you’ll have first-row seats to watch our progresses by following this blog. We plan on creating a specific blog for Finest Travels in at the beginning of 2013, because as stated in the disclaimer this blog does not represent the company.
I am incredibly excited about the new year and the opportunities ahead of us. I’m sure in 2013 Finest Travels will show that it is indeed possible to craft a great costumer experience while making it accessible to every pocket. I wish you much success in the coming year as well. I believe it is an incredible moment for entrepreneurship. Big corporations have been losing ground because of the economy, opening up space for small entrepreneurs like me an you that can take up the challenge of doing things better and at a lower cost.
Many bright people I know have truly ground-breaking ideas, but don’t know how to take the first step towards realizing them. That’s why I created the entrepreneurship course. It is not rocket science, and I don’t claim to have an easy solution or solution at all. But the course will do one thing: it will take you from having an idea (or not having one) to launching a product. It is powerful not because of the “lessons” therein, but because it gives you a schedule, helping you not to procrastinate, and just follow your dreams. If you are interested you can learn more about it here.
I wish you all happy holidays, and an amazing new year.
All the best,
